shocking.....let's just take action and do it." (PCP, 3-13-2009). Further, Ms. Luanne Hanford, the director of human resources for University Park, called such checks "standard paractice" and ..."Everybody I know who works in municipal government does background checks to at least some extent." (Ms. Hanford, Park Cities People, 3-13-2009)

I go on to tell the current town council, ...."my concern is for the safety of people......I love this town, but this is something that I think really needs to be addressed." (Park Cities People, 3-13-2009).

The current HP town council took a vote on the issue several months later in 2009, and voted to conduct background checks on new hires only. They voted against checks on the current employees in administration. What is amazing to me is that the current town council has no idea to date of the criminal backgrounds of these approximate 50 administrative employees. That's amazing! And, that the current town council would jeopardize our town and families with unknowns is unconscionable. Think about this for a moment. We've had scandal after scandal in this country, and our town council let's something as serious as this go by.

I want to stop this kind of governing. If our town council would stop worrying about what our town flag should look like, (and they can vote in favor of a HP flag), then why have they not taken action on background checks. It should seriously concern you and make you wonder who this town employs, it does me. I guess it will take something bad to happen to wake HP residents up.

In my opinion, if you support the current HPCL slate, then you support the demolishing of Highland Park, and, you support a background check policy that is unconscionable to the safety of our town and families.

Thank you for your time.
