Grass Roots Campaign Update
March 18, 2010
It appears posting for public record on my website seems to motivate town hall. I received a call this afternoon from town secretary, James Fisher at 1:30 pm. I was told my information request is now available. By tomorrow afternoon, I will have walked to almost half the homes in Highland Park. I have had some great encouragement today while campaigning! Thanks to everyone.
God bless

I attended the HP Council meeting this afternoon. I spoke before the council about the refusal of election candidate name information on March 8 by the town's secretary office. This refusal of information was not only to myself, but to my surprise, the Dallas Morning News. The town secretary's office apparenlty could not get their excuses correct and told me something entirely different from what they stated to the Dallas Morning News. The town's secretary's office had the nerve to try to make the Dallas Morning News file an open records request in writing (even after the deadline passed) which was, in my opinion, violations of public information laws. I hope the voters of HP get a glimpse of what i've been dealing with for a long time with the town government of HP.
How many other parties where refused public electoral information? As I told the current HP Council, " it is very sad that this took place". "We have men and women who have died for our freedoms of democracy.... men and women who are serving at this moment" in our mlitary. It is amazing that so many great men and women have served and are serving in our military, and we have HP's town government playing games with public electoral information.
God bless
