He is a graduate of St. Thomas High School and a member of the school's distinguished 1900 Society. St. Thomas is a college preparatory school for young men that was founded in the year 1900 and taught by Basilian fathers.

Early on, Sam's interest for the financial markets led him to internships with investment firms and often worked for free. He would cold call at night to obtain experience. After working his way through college and graduating, Sam began his career working for respected Wall Street firms. He later founded Tamborello & Co. in 1993 and subsequently Tamborello Capital Management, L.L.C.

Today, Sam is a proud North Texan, businessman, investor, and rancher who currently operates SCT Holdings and Locos Gatos Ranch. He truly enjoys his entrepreneurial challenges and ranching experiences.
In 2009, Sam was honored with a citizen commendation award from the Town of Highland Park, Texas for assisting the town's police in capturing a serial felon. The commendation award was for Sam's courage, citizenship, and willingness to make a difference in the community. The award was presented by Mayor Seay of Highland Park, Texas in council member chambers.

Sam is also a former Associate Deacon for Second Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, where he participated in feeding many of Houston's poor through the ministries Angel's of Light program.

He is married to his beautiful wife, Angela, and they have several dogs and cats on the farmily farm.

His interests include, the environment, animal cruelty prevention, farming and ranching, corporate and government ethics reforms, local politics, and treasure hunting. Sam is neither a Republican or Democrat, but rather a supporter of fairness and compromise within both parties.

Sam's best advice to give is ....don't believe everything you hear or read because there are two sides to the story.
